Daisy and Lilly’s owner suffered a downturn in her life and was forced to move in with her daughter and grandchild. With two big dogs already in residence, it was not possible to take Daisy and Lilly with her. So they came to SCDR to find a new home. These girls are two little flowers, both sweet, but very different.

Daisy is lively and expressive, she bonds deeply with her person and tunes into your moods and emotions. She will be your little shadow. . .not asking for anything, but she's available in case you need to love on her. She makes funny little moaning noises of pleasure when you do, and is heaven to snuggle with. Daisy knows precisely what time dinner in served, and if you're too slow about it, she'll give you an earful. Daisy will go in a crate without complaint, but makes it clear from day one that her place is in the bed with you.

Daisy has a unique coat, dark red with sable overtones, more commonly seen on the longhair than on a smooth. Daisy rides well in the car, and is ready for any kind of adventure. She is happy and friendly to everyone she meets. We haven't encountered any cats, but she doesn't have a strong prey drive. While the rest of the pack is going frantic over a lizard, Daisy is gazing into your eyes with love. Daisy seems to like male dogs. She curls up close with her foster brother and licks his back. Daisy has mastered the dog door, and has learned to catch flying treats.

Lilly is very ladylike and is all “girlie”. She has the prettiest little black and tan face with long ears like velvet. Since starting good nutrition, her black coat is glossy and soft. Lillie is more reserved, and waits to be invited to cuddle. Once she's in your arms, she melts like butter. Lillie enjoys going out and about, walks beautifully on her leash, and stops traffic with her beauty. Lillie was uncertain, at first, about the magic portal called “dog door”, but now bounds in and out like a champ. She enjoys a good romp with a squeaky toy, and digging in dirt. Lillie doesn't have a strong prey drive, and would probably be gentle with a cat, or a child (over 6 years old), as she is with all creatures she meets.

Lillie is just a delight, to look at, to be out with and to hold and love. She loves Daisy, but doesn't get upset being apart from her. She seems to gravitate to the other female in her foster pack, but gets along with everybody.

Daisy and Lilly get along great, and love each other very much, but aren't joined at the hip like some pairs. Each would be fine joining another family without the other, providing there is another dachshund for play and companionship. Both girls are making progress on the potty rules, but will need refresher boundaries set in a new place. The girls are very long and very short. A home all on one-level without stairs to navigate would be desirable.

Daisy and Lilly are healthy, have current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If you can give them a loving home together, please contact Roberta at (520) 406-3506 or email Together or separate, these girls are a catch for any dachshund lover. An adoption application and home check are required.

The tax deductible donation for Daisy and Lilly is $150.00 each or both for $250.00
